How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster
Stark Raving Bibliophile mentioned this book on her blog this summer and I just had to have it. My hope is it will help me explain literature and its importance better to my students as well as make me a better critical reader.
Hopefully, this time next month I can claim to have finished all these too!
How to Read Literature Like a Professor is still in my bedside table, too. :-) Being a home schooling mama, I have the same hope you do -- that I will be better able to articulate an understanding of literature to my kids. The Time Traveler's Wife was terrific. I haven't read the other two, but they look great! I would've loved to take AP European History when I was a teen. Can you believe the high school I went to (circa 1984) didn't offer any form of world history or geography? I guess they thought U.S. History, plus a smattering of local geography, was all we needed. Very odd.
